Themed Weekends 2019
April 5-7 Welcome Back – Come and meet new campers, reconnect with old friends, and work together to get your sites cleaned and set up. No activities. Water not guaranteed. Get ready for another great season!
April 12-14 Fishing Fun – First derby of the season, fish for the catch of the day (no license required), derby contest all morning with prizes. Fishing crafts, fishing games. Best-dressed fisherman (or woman) contest. High Stakes Bingo.
April 19-21 The Eggtastic Spirit of Spring – Celebrate spring at Brialee, with spring/flower crafts, egg races, egg painting, flashlight egg hunt, nature scavenger hunt, and finish the weekend with an Easter egg hunt for the little ones (under 10).
April 26-28 Great Brialee Campout – Craving old-fashioned family fun? Unplug and enjoy time outdoors with family and friends. Ultimate Camper Contests – fire making, s’mores roasting, and other camping challenges leading to Ultimate Outdoorsman Award.
May 3-5 Race of Roses – Kentucky Derby arrives at Brialee with a Derby of games and activities all weekend. Enter the costume contest, best derby attire, race wooden horses, watch the races on the big screens, and play Las Vegas-style casino games.
May 10-12 Marvelous Moms – this weekend is all about moms, kids make mom gifts, mom/child competitions, and extra craft and relaxation time for moms. Crafters and Vendor Fair, and more. First band of the season.
May 17-19 Brialee Olympics – Be a part, with games and challenges designed for teams, individuals, and all ages. Choose your country, compete for points, go for the gold! Site-to-Site tag sales.
May 24-27 Memorial Madness – A jam-packed schedule full of activities, crafts, and fun events for all ages. Reserve early – fills up quickly. Take the wagon and participate in Ashford’s Memorial Day Parade on Monday.
May 31–June 2 The 80’s Are Back – Get out your denim, neon, spandex, and leg warmers and join the 80’s fun, with an 80’s dance party, karoke, break dancing, air guitar, and costume contests, and favorites like MTV, Atari, and Nintendo. *NEW*
June 7-9 Candy Land – Bringing the game of Candy Land to real life, with Lollipop Woods, the Peppermint Stick Forest, edible jewelry-making and candy crafts, chocolate tasting, ice cream cone relays, gingerbread decorating, chocolate candy and dessert bake-offs, and a candy bar.
June 14-16 Fabulous Fathers – designed for Dads, this weekend brings fishing, poker, sports, beer-tasting, dad/child competitions, horseshoes, and more. Kids make a gift for dads, evening of music with a band.
June 21-23 Celebrating 45 Years – another milestone to be proud of! Welcoming old seasonal campers back for the day, celebration of Brialee’s anniversary – with special games, challenges, food truck festival ($), and more!
June 28-30 Super Sleuth Mystery Games – Hunts, decoders, invisible ink, I-spy and secret identity games. Solve the clues. Enjoy the hunts. Site-to-site tag sales. End the evening with a murder mystery dinner ($). *NEW*
July 4-7 Yankee Doodle Days – A 3-night celebration of All American Fun! Yankee Relays, marshmallow gun camo wars, golf cart and bike decorating contest and parade, site decorating contest, crafts, bingo, entertainment, and the amazing Brialee fireworks display! (no camper fireworks allowed!) 3-night minimum.
July 12-14 Pirates & Mermaids Cove – Ahoy Mateys! Pirates and mermaids will return to Brialee with a pirate show, shoebox catapult, beach bonfire, treasure hunt, pirate & mermaid costume contest, panning for gold, and pirate-cardboard-boat races, including a boat-parade around the pond for those boats that can make it! *RENEWED*
July 19-21 Campers Carnival – an old fashion style carnival where campers make the booths and charge a fee to play the games, and keep the money they make! Sponge tosses, cotton candy, snow cones – these are just a few of the things you may find. Let’s see how creative our awesome campers can be!
July 26-28 You Might be a Red Neck – BBQ competitions, costume and site decorating contest (prizes), red neck and hillbilly games, wife-carrying contest, wrestling show. Site-to-Site tag sales. Let your redneck out for the weekend!
August 2–4 Spirit of Aloha! – Brialee’s annual Hawaiian luau and beach party, with games and contests on and off the beach, best tan contest, best Hawaiian outfit, Ugliest Hawaiian shirt, site decorating contest, hula dance competition, beach bonfire, Pig Roast ($)
August 9-11 Astronauts and Aliens – build and launch rockets, make alien slime, play rings of Saturn, Captains Mission, and space games. Bring your best creative mind to robotic competitions, participate in Spaceport and Alien missions. This weekend will be out of this world! *NEW*
August 16-18 Campsgiving – Giving thanks (a few months early), spend this weekend showing and being thankful, with thanksgiving crafts, best pie bakeoff (prizes), favorite thanksgiving tradition, and join in on a campsgiving traditional thanksgiving dinner, with turkey and all the fixings ($). *NEW*
August 23-25 Under the Sea - It may be 45 minutes from us, but we’ll do our best to bring the ocean to you through sea-themed arts and crafts, make sea-animals, ocean-in-a-bottle, sand art, crab race, sponge relays, sink the boat, and more. A weekend of sea, sand, and shells. Chowder Cookoff (prizes) Lobster & Clam Fest ($). *NEW*
August 30–September 2 Camp, Relax, Repeat – come celebrate the end of Summer with us! Build a cardboard boat and compete in our boat races, sample our refreshing lemonade bar, crafts, games, bingo, tons of fun, and entertainment. 3-night minimum.
September 6-8 Camp Brialee – The Stage is waiting for you! Get involved in Brialee's Got Talent competition, bring your music or props needed to show off your talent. Participate in reality show games and activities. Take home the Camp Brialee top talent trophy.
September 13-15 Fall Harvest Festival – Fall has arrived, and with it comes fairs, festivals, farmers’ markets, art retreats, and harvest feasts. Take the wagon to apple picking, join in on one of the many art classes, sign up to demo your craft, sell your home-made goods/crafts at the craft fair, enjoy the food truck festival ($) celebrate the treasures of fall.
September 20-22 Body, Mind, and Spirit - A weekend focusing on health and wellness, with fitness classes, native arts, and some spiritual activities too. Yoga classes, Zumba, essential oils, and other activities to relax and feed your soul.
September 27-29 Safari Adventures - Learn about animals and their habitats, hands-on animal demonstrations, monkey tag, catch the snakes tail, reptile and animal show, wild crafts, and other safari adventures. Site-to-Site tag sales.
October 4-6 Hometown Heroes – Welcoming all firemen, EMTS, Police, Medical, Military, and Teachers for this special weekend honoring our hometown heroes. With ID – anyone in these categories will receive one night free of camping, and other recognitions too! Explore a real fire engine, ambulance, or police car, learn about fire safety, participate in mock-military and safety challenges, write letters to service members who are overseas. *NEW*
October 11-14 Oktoberfest – A celebration of family, friends, food, and fun. Stein-holding contest, beer-tasting, food truck and vendor fair ($), Oktoberfest crafts and activities in spirit of fall. Live music during food/vendor festival, and more!
October 18-20 Halloween - Festival of Frights - filled with spooky fun, creepy crafts, ghostly games, trick or treating, costume contest, pumpkin carving, ghoulish bakeoff, hauntingly scary site decorating contests and a frightful nighttime experience.
October 25-27 Halloween – Festival of Frights 2 – a second weekend like the first, it’s so popular we do it all again. Creepy crafts, trick or treating, costume, scary site decorating, ghoulish bakeoff and carving contests with prizes, ending with a frightful nighttime experience.
